Default I just opened a demo account with atc brokers

I have been a client for a couple months now and have to say, if you want true ECN brokerage while using MT4, these are the guys. Spreads on EURUSD are consistently .5 to .8 PIPs during the NY London overlap.

In addition, they are very responsive to any questions or issues you may have as they provide real time online chat to their tech support guys.

I am not sure who these other reviewers are but sounds like competition trying to bash a cutting edge broker they cannot compete with.

Keep up the good work ATC!

I just opened a demo acct. but now I am concerned about the spreads and commission. I don't want to even try a demo acct. if I know I will not open a live acct. Someone please explain if the commissions, spreads are really expensive like the one reviewer stated.

Default to many issues with atc online forex brokers

Houston... we have a problem!

ATC runs their MT4 pro platform in conjunction with the data feed from Hotspot FX.

I found this out when I was considering opening an account with Hotspot and they referred me to ATC, which is the only MT4 broker they would refer me to, so I have been demo testing their system daily.

Here's the problem:

ATC had several hours downtime on their servers & data feed on Friday during and after the NFP release. When the charting resumed the EUR/USD was down over 200 pips from earlier. ( Hope you weren't long E/U when that happened! )

Convenient for them, or just a coincidence? Well, you decide.

I know this is a demo account, and they say their live servers are different, but I'm sure somewhere in the fine print when you open an account you will agree that one of the conditions of trading with them is they will not be responsible for data errors, data feed, or transmission errors. This is an example of what they mean.

But they also say: "we are feeding the data for the demo straight from the live market pricing."

If their demo is anything like their live trading environment I would suggest having their 24hr order desk number on speed dial and keep the phone close at hand. In fact, try calling to get them to close one of your trades during an especially busy time. Find out how they handle problems BEFORE you really need to. During Friday's "server problems" would have been a perfect time to find out if anyone is there or if they all happen to be out to lunch. Can anyone say "blown account" ?

It may have been possible to minimize the destruction to your account by closing your trades directly through the account at Hotspot, but I don't know about that.

Again, I have to withhold judgement of them since I am using a demo account, but I can say after over two years of using demo and live MT4 platforms daily with IBFX, MIG, Alpari, FXDD, and some others that this is one of the most severe and potentially costly software problems I have experienced in forex.

Bottom line is; I like their concept but it would appear that they are experiencing significant challenges that would indicate that you approach their opportunity with an increased level of caution.

If you have had problems with their live trading environment I would like to hear about it from you. Thanks.

Default

I've got to agree with one of the reviews/comments on this site about the awful spreads for ATC on majors during peak trading hours i have seen the bid/ask fluctuate between 8-18 pips, very rarely under 5, even then the market was less desirable for entries, while the customer may be good, I suppose when you know your traders are being taken to the cleaners there is some sense of empathy. You have to be leary of these IB's, while atc is one of the 1st to successfully bridge MT4 and ECN, the amount of email alerts I would recieve was off the hook, just obsurd. Erroe this, server problems that, roll-over delays, internet probels, it was one thing after the other margin requiremnts changing, leverage changes, i mean come on, are traders really this stupid and ignorant, I must have beem to even open an account with them, truely never experienced so many difficulties trading with a broker in the 5 years I been trading this market, I think we are all better off going to DBFX, screw all these retail brokers, or ecns both have faults, pick your evil, but atc takes the cake!
